Alkahest is an album that suddely appeared out of nowhere for me, but within the first time I've heard it, I knew this had to be one of the best Black Metal albums of the year. The album is dominated by Rock'n'Roll riffs, Old School Black Metal harshness and an unforgiving vocal performance. Absolutely fascinating throughout the entire album.

𝕲𝖔𝖑𝖑𝖚𝖒𝖌𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖆 I had ordered this vinyl from a seller on discogs and when I received it, it was completely destroyed. I was quite distraught to say the least. Elated to get another chance to own this monumental work on vinyl.

Einsiedler This album really stands out with its chaotic soundspheres and experimental parts. Loving the overall sound and the variety.

Shrivenzale This is a black metal masterpiece! Atmospheric, harsh, old school, extremely accessible yet full of so many idiosyncracies that keep you at the edge of your seat each time you spin the album. Formidable production and especially the bass work is fantastic!

Matthew Arnold Rocking, rollicking black metal! These guys stay just dissonant enough to keep this from being too accessible. Great balance on an intriguing album.

Tyme One of the finest black metal releases in recent memory. Atmospheric, dissonant without being pretentious, and a vocal delivery that seals the deal. Miss out at your peril.

All in all if you are looking for black metal with a touch of timelessness and with classic heavy metal influences mixed with a keen sense of experimentalism then KVELGEYST definitely represents one of the strongest expressions of this school of thought in black metal that’s been seen in a long time." cvlt nation
